Globally recognized as a world-class expert in blockchain technology, digital currency protocols and decentralized consensus networks, Eric Lombrozo is a visionary technologist and entrepreneur who brings over 20 years of experience in enterprise-scale software architecture, information security, systems integration and project management, as well as expert knowledge in a variety of computing environments, network protocols and programming languages.
Eric has been a longtime contributor to Bitcoin Core and a sought-after speaker at cryptocurrency conferences worldwide. He has actively participated in the design and implementation of the open source software that forms the backbone of the Bitcoin network and has worked at other successful software startups. He studied engineering at UCLA and UCSD and has pursued subsequent independent studies in computer science, physics and mathematics.

Chief Operations Officer
As a founding member and C-level executive of several successful business ventures over the last four decades, Enrique Lombrozo brings extensive knowledge and experience in startup development, strategic planning, industrial operations, team building and corporate organization. As Co-CEO and Chief Operations Officer, he provides direction and leadership toward the achievement of the company’s goals and is responsible for the company’s overall operations.
Enrique is a hands-on executive whose diversified professional experience includes corporate management structuring, business development, product design and manufacturing, industrial facilities design and construction, complex computer-modeling, market competitiveness, quality assurance and global procurement. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from MIT and has pursued independent studies in business management, business negotiation, project management, digital electronics, embedded systems and discrete mathematics.
Chief Financial Officer
Carrie McQueen has deep-rooted expertise working with technology startups. She started her career as a financial analyst on the Qualcomm team in its earliest stages and has since served as CFO for several public companies including Websense, Mast Therapeutics and LifeVantage. She has successfully procured venture capital funding from prominent VC firms including Morgan Stanley, Crosspoint VP and Carl Icahn Capital Management. Her broad experience with startups spans the range from early-stage funding to IPOs.
As the company’s Chief Financial Officer and member of its Executive Leadership Team, Carrie McQueen’s responsibilities include strategic financial management, capital funding, investor relations, business modeling, corporate governance and general administration. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California at San Diego and a Master in Business Administration from San Diego State University.
Venture Capital Advisor
Alyse Killeen, a pioneer investor in the bitcoin ecosystem, is Managing Partner at StillMark and serves as Ciphrex’s Venture Capital Advisor. Her practice is focused on global innovation in finance, healthcare and new markets. Her investment experience spans the range from seed stage to pre-IPO. A consummate connector of people and ideas, she is a member of the Satoshi Roundtable and a mentor at Plug and Play Tech Center Accelerator in Silicon Valley.
Alyse is a distinguished international speaker and has presented at events organized by the International Monetary Fund, Singapore Management University, USA Today, and TechCrunch Disrupt. She is a Fintech Fellow at Singapore University of Social Sciences and the UN Foundation named her a Top 70 Bay Area Digital Leader. She is a collaborating author in the award-winning book Handbook of Digital Currency and has been featured in major business publications, including Forbes and Bloomberg.
Peter Townshend is Ciphrex’s corporate legal counsel and serves as Legal Advisor on the company’s Board of Advisors. He is a partner at the law firm Perkins Coie LLP and works in their Emerging Companies and Venture Capital Practice. For nearly 20 years, he has provided legal advice to technology startups. He is a sought-after speaker and lecturer, and has developed a top-rated workshop series in entrepreneurship.
Peter was closely involved with eBay and Plaxo in their early days, and has worked with a number of technology companies founded by renowned entrepreneurs across the USA. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Yale University, and JD and MBA degrees from the University of California at Berkeley. His law firm, Perkins Coie, was founded more than a century ago and is a leader in representing virtual currency startups.
Business Strategy Advisor
Eliezer Lombrozo serves as Business Strategy Advisor on Ciphrex’s Board of Advisors. He brings to the company the broad business perspective of an experienced and successful entrepreneur. He is a former IBM technologist who has built several successful companies from the ground up. His extensive business experience makes him especially adept at working through the complexity and diversity of problems startup companies face during the incubation and development process.
Eliezer is a hands-on executive who has been actively involved in all aspects of business, acquiring in-depth knowledge and experience in product development, quality assurance, logistics, and operations. He is an expert in operational efficiency who has devised and implemented state of the art information technology systems. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University.
Michael Perklin is one of the world’s most highly sought-after experts in the cryptocurrency and information security space. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Bitcoin Alliance of Canada, where he was called upon by the Canadian Senate’s Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce for his expertise on digital currency. He has taught classes in digital forensics, information security auditing and computer security.
Michael is a co-founder of the CryptoCurrency Certification Consortium (C4) where he co-authored the original draft of the CryptoCurrency Security Standard (CCSS). Along with Eric Lombrozo and half-a-dozen other industry leaders, Michael founded the CCSS Steering Committee to ensure the CCSS remains up to date, neutral and relevant. He holds a master’s degree in information assurance and a bachelor’s degree in information sciences.
